OUR STORY

Hello, I'm so glad you're here!

My name is Kori Richter. I am your Certified Infant Aquatic Specialist® for Hood County, Somervell County and surrounding areas.

My husband is a native Texan who brought me to Granbury in 2020 and I’ve fallen in love with this community of people. In January of 2024, I learned that our local Infant Aquatics® instructor had made the decision to retire- my heart and mind began to stir. I soon realized God was opening a door. In the coming weeks, I found myself researching Infant Aquatics®, reaching out to other instructors, sitting in on lessons, and sobbing through online stories of families who had experienced the sudden loss of a child due to drowning.

Receiving news that a family has experienced a child drowning incident is jolting, it's eye-opening, and it's far more common than most people understand. Drowning is the leading cause of unintentional injury-related death for children ages 1-4.

As a mom, sometimes it's hard to know how to be aware without being fearful. You've come to the right place. At LWIA our desire is to inform parents and empower children in order to minimize the number of fatal drowning incidents in our community. In a scenario where precious seconds count, let's give children the best possible chance to survive. And let's even take it a step further and empower them to thrive!
